I love the southwest and this trip was one of the main reasons I fell in love with the area. I went to a photography workshop to Moab Utah to visit Arches National Park and the first night I was there we went out to shoot some astro photography. I remember getting out of the car as my eyes adjusted to the complete darkness. As my eyes adjusted thousands of stars appeared before my eyes. I didn’t realize how dark it would be in Arches National Park or how many stars we would be able to see. As we set up for this shot the Milky Way rolled right through the arch. It was an amazing sight to be seen and I was so thrilled with the shot that I have it printed in my office.

There is nothing like the power and excitement of thunderstorms. Especially when you live in a big city full of high rises. I remember growing up in Florida and experiencing thunderstorms.. There was more rain than visible lightning and it was lots of fun. But now being in Chicago you really get to see the storms especially if you are in a high rise with a view. This shot was just west of downtown during a monster storm that rolled through the city. I wish I took a screenshot of the weather map as it was a solid wave of red. I got lucky and was able to capture lightning striking the John Hancock Tower and Trump Tower. Click the link below to purchase the print from my Etsy store.

Cinque Terre Italy is one of my favorite places in Italy and Europe. You are right on the water with only the sound of waves, church bells and roosters. The food is amazing and the views equally match the food. I took my wife on this hike as it’s been on my bucket list and it didn’t disappoint. We got an amazing view of Vernazza and the coast from above. I’ll never forget seeing all the lemon trees and getting to explore with my favorite person on earth. After the hike we got to enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at the next town over. I miss the carefree days we had there enjoying the people, food and our company.

Half Dome Yosemite National Park Prints for Sale

I’m remembering the long days and wondrous experiences in Yosemite Valley. This was just one example of the river that runs through Yosemite Valley with Half Dome in the background. The colors and scale is breathtaking in photos but even more so in real life. My experience in Yosemite Valley can only be described as magical. I’ve never been to a place with so much beauty at every turn. I long for another trip to Yosemite and hope to go back sometime soon!

My first day in Yosemite I was on my own so I decided to hike from Yosemite Valley up to Glacier Point. It was a long hike but I was rewarded half way up with this shot of Half Dome in the distance. I’ve never seen such a place as Yosemite. It is one of the most magical places on earth. Every turn are these famous and wondrous scenes to take in. I highly recommend visiting and witnessing the grandeur and beauty.
